The unit is dark gray and ranges in composition from hypersthene-normative basalt to alkali picrate and alkali olivine basalt. This unit is > 580 m thick and includes 20 lava flows (Coleman et al., 1977a). Webbasalt lava when it entombed the leaf (and the wood).
