Web28 Nov 2024 · An important part of a flexible net rockfall catchment fence system is the foundation. Catchment systems have been growing in capacity, able to stop larger and higher energy rockfall events. The trend for foundations has been for them to become larger and more rigid, according to the Association of Geohazard Professionals (AGHP). WebAt a Wellington subdivision site, a simple prototype timber catch fence was constructed, comprising timber posts and timber lagging. The fence was tested by rolling rocks down the steep un-vegetated slope above and into the fence. A rock with an estimated impact energy of 4.5 kJ broke two pieces of the lagging without penetrating the fence.
