WebOct 19, 2014 · Unfortunately the gas block is junk. I've been bitching about this for years but DPMS apparently loves the things. Your problem is the gas block is aluminum and when the rifle is fired the block expands more and at a quicker rate than the barrel. This causes the gas block to become loose. I know. I have one.

The older DPMS height (DPMS HIGH) the newer height that they swapped to in 09 (DPMS LOW) which is the same height over bore as a AR15. you appear to have the 3rd option, the Target height upper.
