WebJan 30, 2024 · No, you do not need to involve the MiniDSP... Unless you are trying to do very finite adjustments that Audyssey cannot handle on its own. (Friendly reminder... you can cut peaks at will, but you can't boost your way out of a null... Only proper positioning and measuring will allow for the smoothest response. ) WebJun 10, 2024 · I've been using miniDSP 2x4HD in a basic configuration and now it's time to try to improve on the results. I'm not running my mains through DSP, only 4 subs. I'm 2-channel only, no AVR, just a stereo preamp. I don't need to optimize for even bass response at all listening positions, I need an optimum response from one listening position.

WebDec 13, 2024 · Sure the MiniDSP is manual and won't calculate sub distances, etc automatically, but if you use it in conjunction with REW you'll probably get better results than most room eqs manage anyway, especially sub distances. WebSep 15, 2014 · I will be using REW with the UMIK-1 calibrated microphone to do the measurements (20-200Hz range) to get tight and smooth bass response . I'm expecting to get 3-4 filters (frequencies with db and Q) that require adjustment for each speaker and will apply those settings in the parametric EQ config in the Yamaha for each speaker. WebJan 12, 2024 · 2. Yes, similar to above. The miniDSP is an additional tool that expands your options on "fixing" room responses and sub interactions. Being able to adjust alignment between the pair of subs (to maximize combined response) and then sending it to YPAO as a single "virtual" sub has yielded better results for many. WebMiniDSP SHD and the Streaming experience. I am seriously considering a MiniDSP SHD as a streamer/preamp for my system. I am currently streaming with a SONOS Port connected directly to the RCA inputs of my two subs (left out to one sub and right out to the other sub) and then have the RCA outs of the subs feed my power amps and then some … leftover celery recipe
